Dr. Peterson was born and raised in Versailles, KY. Through her desire to help others and her interest in medicine, she found the joy that is the optometry profession.
While pursuing her Bachelor's degree at Western Kentucky University, Dr. Peterson studied biology and did research on human perception. Through the opportunities and guidance provided to her during her studies, she found a class on optics taught alongside a local optometrist in Bowling Green, KY. This physics course would lead her to a rewarding future as an Optometrist.
Once accepted into Southern College of Optometry, Dr. Peterson studied hard and maintained leadership positions within the school’s Student Government Association. Dr. Peterson discovered her love for ocular disease while at extern at Commonwealth Eye Surgery in Lexington, KY. She was the first extern at Compton and Compton Eye Care in Franklin, KY where she decided she wanted to continue working with patients in rural Central KY.
Dr. Peterson graduated with her Doctorate in Optometry in 2024 with special recognition in the Gold Key Honors society for the extracurricular leadership work she completed alongside her studies. She is excited to be back in her Kentucky home to provide next-level care to her patients in Danville and Mt. Vernon.
